We all have that room in the house that “save for last” when it comes to decorating – and this room was mine! This room is a small, second living space in the back of our house that is attached to one of the guest bedrooms & bathrooms. Originally, we thought we could use our living room furniture from the old house in this space…but it just didn’t fit or look right, so it was time for a project!

Starting from scratch is both exciting and stressful – I truly didn’t know where to begin with this room, mainly because I didn’t know the exact vibe I wanted to go for. My husband, Nick, surprisingly has a secret passion (and great eye) for interior design – and he has this insane infatuation with brown leather couches. He has this exact one from Article in his office, which is where I got the inspiration! As you can probably imagine, he was excited when I agreed to more of a western, masculine vibe for this space rather than my typical all-white-everything.

First, I ordered the couch & coffee table – and those two pieces laid out the foundation for the room. The mini-chest in the corner is a piece I’ve had for years – and I thought it fit perfectly. After all of the foundational furniture was placed, it was time for the fun part! I took trips to Target, World Market & shopped a few Etsy stores for “Western Chic” (as I like to call it) decor.

Slowly but surely, it all came together and I absolutely love how it turned out! If there was a space in our house to have a “Texas” vibe – this was the place for it! Like I mentioned, it’s a room that’s right off of our biggest guest room where most of our guests would stay while visiting. It’s comfy, cozy but still really stylized, which is sometimes a hard combination to achieve.

I was so excited to install my very first gallery wall in this room – it’s a recent interior design trend that I am 100% on board with. It feels empty walls beautifully and effortlessly. I purchased this set of 12 gallery wall white frames from Target, and shopped around online at The Poster Store & Seven Paper Prints for some beautiful, high quality prints for the frames. That wall was made for a gallery wall, don’t you think?!

Overall, it was a fun, challenging product that definitely made me want to get out of my interior design comfort zone more often! I’ve linked everything that is able to be linked down below so you can create a western chic space in your home!
